If you're on recent code, please wait.
If you're on old code, please add me again at beardyunixer@beardyunixer.com
If you haven't had the signal by now, you won't get it. The easiest way to fix things is to swap the kakste.com to beardyunixer.com in the contact edit menu for me. Alternatively, you can delete me, and add me again at beardyunixer@beardyunixer.com

This works in a dark theme.
But I started moving stuff to mod_whatever too. That's the important bit. Make it less intimidating for people to play with files that have like twenty lines each.

HAve a look into my theme, the first line in the style.css and the first lines of the theme.php making it inherit all the features from duepuntozero. Then I took the default.php file from Fabios blog theme and added some information to the style.css file that needed to be altered from duepuntozero.
And you are done
Threaded comments and all the other features for a very low cost but a new theme.
Just take the one you like the most and change the little bit you dont like

less is to css what jquery is to javascript. Write less code, get more done. The code you write makes more sense and has more structure.
My only issue is that I want a single less compiler which works exactly the same on Windows and Linux, compiled from source if need be - and I really don't want to install "node". Just give me less.c and no extra bullshit. Then I'll use it.

Okay.
So, some screenshots are missing. Most demos are missing. There are bound to be some typos leading to dead links. There are some appalling code shortcuts. And you know what? Yes, yes I did use tables for layout. But everything should at least be downloadable again now.

We could do with one of these for theme developers too really.
I know we've got a theme developers forum, but we could do with a place where "what's the difference between style.php and style.css" isn't a stupid question.
Nobody would treat it like a stupid question anyway, but it can be off-putting to visit a forum and not even understand the other questions.

In the meantime, you can have a sneak preview at the new listings page.

The new work flow will simply be friendica.
You post your addon to a forum, where anyone can download it from your site (or mine, if you use a wall-to-wall post).
Once I've checked it (for malicious code and from unknown authors only), they get moved to my site (to stop a smarter malicious person uploading something good, and changing it later), and get a fancy download page.
Anybody who can read the code, or trusts an author can download pending addons at any time.

"and from unknown authors" probably needs expanding - known authors get checked for malicious code (eg, in the past we had accidental inclusion of google analytics code), new authors, we look a bit more thoroughly - have you made something public that should only be shown to logged in users? Have you used curl instead of post_url? etc.

We've got lots of geeks here, so somebody tell me - why would I want a tablet?
At first glance, they're less mobile than mobile phones, and less useful than laptops. And unlike, say, a Pandora, or a GP2XWiz, you can't even really justify it for the geek points gained.
With the sole exception of reading while in bed (in which case, you'd just want an e-reader), I can't think of any situation where a tablet would be a better option than a mobile or a laptop.

Personally, I'd never use a tablet anywhere but at home (we don't have one yet, but I might buy one within the next few months), exactly because it either can't really play out the larger screen advantage (7" "tablets") or is too large to conveniently carry around.
At home, to me the main advantage is, like with mobile phones, "switch on and use". Compared to a laptop's "switch on, wait half an hour until the OS has woken up from sleep, log in, use".
To me, a tablet is just a large smartphone, not more. (I nearly don't use smartphones for phoning at all, it's the net part that makes me use them.) I'd never try to program anything on a tablet. Or write a very long email. But it's nice for looking up stuff in the net, checking emails, chatting, social networks, games etc. Casual use for a few minutes. The kind of use I'd not want to wait for the laptop to wake up for.

I use my tablet for leisure stuff, when I'm too lazy/tired to start the notebook but want to check my mail/~friendica
/read something or just play a game. Also it's a great tool for the train, except if you want to work, though this might be caused by me only having a 8" screen, which is perfect otherwise.
And the tablet is a great tool for the GM of a Pathfinder/Shadowrun round. One small device with all the rules and notes about the characters.

Nginx connection reset by peer, php5-fpm WARNING: [pool www] child foo exited on signal 11 (SIGSEGV) after bar seconds from start.
Nothing else in the logs.
This also happens with the installer (before it starts trying to populate the DB), but no other pages.
I'm suspecting "nginx" and "php5-fpm" are the key points of this. I'll try again under Apache later.
Edit - so I noticed the segfault in the installer took much longer than the segfault in connection. So, I set fastcgi_read_timeout 1200; (up from 300), and now it works.
Connection still segfaults after a couple of seconds.
Creating a new channel takes several minutes.
If this is all just me and an nginx/fpm error then it comes under "not your problem" - it's always been clear that Apache and normal PHP are the requirements.
Edit again - thinking about it, it's weird that increasing the timeout worked. That should fix a 504, but I was getting 502s.
And edit again - strategic use of return puts the problem in connections_content...which is the biggest function and so not very good narrowing down...

Also, add a sreenshot for apps (like for themes), so a theme can make the app menua bloaty annoying piece of shit more graphical.

I've got all weekend free.
That's when I'll do Friendica-Addons. And also when I'll finish Pen15.
And also, when I'll try to get to the bottom of my must-update-two-fields-at-once admin panel bug, which has got to be something stupid I can't see for looking, but adds all the missing .htconfig.php options when I find what's breaking it. (That includes dead snakes, but in an Experimental/Unsupported subsection...and it's trivial to delete a few lines from the bottom if we don't want them).
Plodding along with KakSte and Cleardia until then, since they both need less work, and have stuff you can do in small batches.
