wordpress.com users have to modify this to:

and use the 16x16 icon instead

And I would like to mention that this service is not utf8 ready. So the german Umlaute äüöß and other Special characters are misinterpreted.

Official support for this was dropped ages ago. I keep it going because I use it myself in a couple of places. The proper developers are more interested (and rightly so) in browser based sharing to Friendica such as the Post to Friendica addon. This is as good as it's going to get, I'm afraid.

No problem I just tested it and the uft8 is only misrepresented in the mask, not in the final post. An addon is ok , but I think adding a friendica button to a blog or site is a great way for other people to get known to friendica!

Nothing has changed in the code. Everything is modular - regsiter_open doesn't touch anything related to items, so the timing is coincidental.

The contact is still listed as a remote_self.

The poller has failed just three times in the last month, so even if you got unlucky, it shouldn't have taken more than 24 hours for a post to arrive.


On the other hand, @Olympic Games uses the same trick. In that case Tumblr is fine, but Facebook content shows up only once a day, even though it's set to poll frequently.

over the last week or two, even though the particular feeds were still valid and all started working again later. I wonder if there have been some glitches on Facebook's end.

Three different sites are having slightly different problems with Facebook. We're not sure if they're related or not yet, but something is definitely happening somewhere.

It is a pitty that I am still depending on fb anyways... :S (The posts streamed that way are linking to facebook and not to my blog which is another price I pay for having the nice teasing layout transformation of fb. But that is my only solution right now.)
